Centro 8.3.0 Release Notes

Overview

Centro 8.3.0 updates importers, adds experimental support for a dark theme, improves configurability of working directories, and a number of other improvements and minor bugs.
 

Installation Note

If running Centro on a Windows 10 or a Windows 2016 system, one must create a MIME Type for wasm, otherwise the SpinFire Web module fails to load models.

Windows 11, Windows 2019 and Windows 2022 systems have this MIME type set by default.

Centro 8.3.0 Changes

• Switch themes from User Preferences.

• Update the Catalog Part name from CAD data on check ins.

• A configurable 'ProgramData' root folder location.

• Extend Comments page to allow adding comments to older versions.

• Improved reporting of CadToCatalogAction errors when traversing CAD file.

• Catalog Parts sort without affecting the Clear Filters button.

• Location selector in Resource Upload should show status of location requests while loading.

• Mesh Updates

  • An additional config entry allows disabling Mesh SSO redirection.

  • A new Location selector has been implemented for the "Generate with upload part" dialog.

  • Resource uploader should detect Mesh Rules that will be broken before the upload is attempted

  • Updated Mesh Rules UI to handle concurrent users better.

8.3.0 Bug Fixes

• Catalog assembly tree displays an incorrect version number.

• Reenable the delete button for a resource in cases where a file was not uploaded.

• Long component names in Download Assembly and Cascading Updates dialogs break the UI.

• Appending check-in comments with long strings overflows the panel.

• Icons are not displayed correctly for View Comments, Slice Plane on the SpinFire Wen page when in Full Screen mode.

• The Clear button is not disabled in the Jobs Explorer when the filter is empty.

• Fix cancel button layout and color in Check In form.

• Tooltip doesn't display properly on the warning icon in front of derived Resource.

• An unnecessary scroll bar appears in the Status and Configuration filters on the Pipeline Manager page if moving to the last line.

• RequestPartActionWithOptions endpoint does not check permissions on derived Resources for CreateSpinFireWeb action.

• Incorrect response body on POST /api/catalog/favourite/part call when a bad partDocId is provided.

Supported Environments

It's recommended to have n+1 core processors where n is the number of total concurrent jobs running.

Prerequisite Installations

• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8
  Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 offline installer for Windows

• Internet Information Services (IIS)

• Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ)

• SDK: Visual Studio Projects using the Centro SDK must now target .NET Framework 4.6.2 minimum and turn on automatic binding redirects.
