SpinFire 2025.2.0 Release notes

Release Date: 12th June 2025

Overview

SpinFire 2025.2.0 updates the view interaction, adding dynamic rotation and zooming. 2025.2.0 also makes several changes to the Importer UI, improving the useability of these menus.

The installation and settings location paths have also been updated in this version, we will use these new paths going forward.

In addition there are several bug fixes.

CAD Importer Updates

Notable Changes

• Installation and Settings location

  • Default installation folder has changed from “C:\Program Files\Actify\SpinFire\11“ to “C\Program Files\SpinFire\SpinFire Insight”.

  • Settings folders have changed from “C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Actify\SpinFire11“ to “C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\SpinFire\SpinFire Insight“

  • License file and logs have changes from “C:\ProgramData\Actify\SpinFire11“ to “C:\ProgramData\SpinFire\SpinFire Insight“

• Weight Calculation

  • The default material is no longer “Zinc“. The default is now a material called “Default“ which has a density of 1.

• Improved Importer Settings UI

  • Importer and Quick Options are now sorted by relevance instead of Alphabetical order.

  • Importer Settings UI layout has been modernised.

• View interaction

  • If the mouse is hovering over geometry, Zoom and Rotation are centered on this surface point.

  • If the mouse is not hovering over geometry, Zoom and Rotation behave as before.

• Selection

  • By default, new users will be able to select parts using the left mouse button rather than the right mouse button.

  • Customers can choose between the left or right mouse button for selecting by using “Classic Selection Mode” in the Application settings.

    • For existing users, “Classic Selection Mode” will be enabled.

• File loading

  • Presets are now available to load models with pre-defined settings from the File menu.

• 3D PDF export

  • It is now possible to specify user or owner passwords.

Minor Changes

• “Front Render PMI” option is now On by default.

• “True Color” option has been moved from Importer options to 3D viewer settings.

• “Accurate Tessellation” is no longer affected by Presets.

• “Open Shells“ import options has been updated to “Surfaces“.

• “Lock Tool Enabled” is now on by default in 2D and 3D.

• “Recursive Directory Search“ can now handle relative paths (SFUS-6786). For example you can use “../ ./“ to look in the folder located one level higher than the root CAD file location.

• Part properties are now displaying physical properties units.

• Added Line Thickness Option for 2D AutoCAD.

• Added polyline thickness option.

• Improved Memory Warning message.

• Improved Part Properties Chart performance.

• Improved Export Part list performance.

Bug Fixes

• Drawing

  • Fixed image loading in specific 2D NX file.

• File loading/converting

  • Fixed NX file loading which was no longer working

  • Fixed converting a 2D and 3D files to AutoCad.

• UI

  • Fixed faded grid lines when zooming out.

  • Fixed toolbar which could hide buttons when the screen scaling is bigger than 100% (SFUS-6229).

  • Fixed hiding irrelevant Alpha Value in Background Color.

  • Fixed applying colors to specific Inventor files.

  • Fixed Re-tessellate dialog which was no longer showing.

  • Fixed preventing moving markups by dragging their origin point.

  • Fixed weight calculation when several parts are selected.

  • Fixed importer settings issues when using shared settings.

• Partial loading

  • Fixed incremental loading of JT files to take into account the “Wireframe” option.

  • Improved memory usage.

  • Fixed crash with specific JT files.

• Scripting

  • Fixed error when using double quotes in the Python.NET Console.

  • Fixed erors when changing colors of a big set of parts.

• Home screen

  • Fixed “Use Custom Updates URL” which was displaying the URL in the browser rather than in the news banner.

  • Fixed wrong Helpdesk URL on the Home screen.

• Part Properties Chart

  • Fixed issue which was disabling the UI when closing it before it was fully loaded.

  • Fixed crash when selecting a part for specific models.

  • Fixed Bar Charts which did not update properly.

  • Fixed weight calculation.

• Section Cut

  • Fixed invalid geometry visibility.

  • Fixed Profile faces color when toggling this option on and off.

  • Fixed section cut size was too small in some cases.

• Analysis Tools

  • Fixed saving Curvature analysis user views in some cases.

  • Fixed unreadable Curvature Analysis legend label.

  • Fixed memory usage when using an analysis tool.

• PMI

  • Fixed PMI highlighting when the PMI was related to a specific edge.
