SpinFire 2025.1.0 Release Notes

Overview

SpinFire 2025.1.0 makes several changes to the Settings UI for easier navigation. 2025.1.0 also adds support for HTML Export. In addition there are several bug fixes and performance improvements.

With this release, we have updated our versioning convention to  2025.1.0. This change improves consistency, clarity, and better aligns with our release cycle.

Previous Format: 11.12.0
New Format: 2025.1.0.

Going forward, all future releases will follow this new convention.

Notable Changes

  • HTML Export Support.

    • Support for exporting to HTML has been added in both the regular exporter and the converter.

  • Improved Importer Settings UI.

    • A Common Settings group has been added to the top of the Importers page to allow for quickly toggling the options that users are most likely to change.

    • Advanced Sub-Menus: Within the importer settings, some groups with many settings have had their advanced options moved into a a sub-menu titled “Advanced”.

Minor Changes

  • Added Weight column to Parts List Export (SFUS-6582, SFUS-6591).

  • Added Enable Profile Faces and Edges option for section cuts to the 3D Viewer Settings. This is on by default, but if disabled will provide a noticeable improvement to section cut loading times.

Bug Fixes

  • Import/Export

    • Fixed Load Only Assembly Trees not displaying colors.

    • Fixed missing filter data from certain NX files (SFUS-4435).

    • Fixed Surface Icon not expanding correctly with Boundary Volume by Surfaces.

  • Performance

    •  Improved loading time for large IFC files (SFUS-6390).

  • Measurements

    • Fixed incorrect Wall Thickness average in some cases.

    • Fixed Thickness measurement no longer working in certain cases (SFUS-6541, SFUS-6428, SFUS-6499, SFUS-6515, SFUS-6610).

    • Fixed Minimum Bounding Box not considering transforms after saving to ACT3D.

    • Fixed selecting a point on a section cut (SFUS-6726).

  • UI

    • Fixed New Script tab not closing correctly in Scripting dialog.

    • Fixed Nav Cube breaking in certain situations.

    • Fixed incorrect version listed for Catia V5 and V6 in importers page (SFUS-6697).

    • Fixed file association being lost when updating (SFUS-6688).

    • Fixed Enable Background Gradient checkbox not visible in color dialog.

  • Scripting

    • Fixed SelectItemsByName scripting method from selecting points when looking for sets.

Installation Notes

SpinFire News Panel

The SpinFire News panel requires Microsoft’s webview2 runtime software to display the latest in SpinFire news.

Download the executable from Microsoft to install.

Note: If your system is up to date on Windows 11, your system will already have this installed.

Print Preview

In many cases, Microsoft updates have prevented the rendering of the model in Print Preview.

Microsoft provides a workaound to correct this.

On the system in question,

  1. Open a PowerShell in admininistration mode.

  2. Run the following:

reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\Windows Presentation Foundation\XPSAllowedTypes" /v "DisableDec2022Patch" /t REG_SZ /d "*" /reg:64
